2004 honda rune bagger, every once in a very long while, an international manufacturing powerhouse decides to flex it's engineering muscles and prove to the world it can accomplish something that no one else can. In 2004, honda made that very statement: engineering, building, and selling what was essentially a one-off show bike. Originally the honda rune was designed for the show circuit; as a means to demonstrate the potential of the honda valkyrie's flat-six power plant. However, the president of honda america was determined to prove to harley-davidson and every custom chopper builder that it could engineer and create a power-cruiser that was faster, smoother, more dynamic, and more unique than anyone else could. Each rune that left the marysville, ohio factory cost honda over $100,000. 00 to build, and they sold for only $26,000. An expensive statement, but one that honda needed to do in order to show the world that they could do something that every other manufacturer could only dream of accomplishing. Now, a dozen years later, the extremely rare rune motorcycles are prized by collectors as something that no bike maker can or ever will produce. Honda's world-class engineers pulled it off, and the rune rides as nice and easy as any bagger - with looks that the best custom builders in the would can't replicate. This particular example has been converted into a bagger by it's owner, adding a corbin saddle, lockable hard bags that match the rune's unique lines, along with windshield, engine guards, and dozens of other options, all dipped in deep chrome. Every inch of this bike glistens with high-gloss lacquer and chrome. It's ready to win the grand jury prize at any bike show, or to just hit the open road. There is no other motorcycle on the earth like it.
